Elise is dedicated to helping children build the skills they need to participate in everyday activities and feel confident in who they are.

Her approach is warm, playful and child-centred, creating a supportive environment where children feel safe, engaged and empowered. She has a strong focus on sharing her knowledge with her clients and helping families to understand what they are implementing at home between sessions and why to maximise everyday opportunities to for her clients to work towards their goals.

Elise believes therapy should be understood by the people it matters most to, the clients and their families, so everyday therapy practice at home feel like connection, not pressure.

Our Approach

At Like Sunshine OT, we deliver services that are neuro-affirming and evidence-based.

We provide outcomes-focused therapy, driven by client goals and guided by professional knowledge with years of experience.

We believe in helping kids shine by building skills that make it easier to succeed when trying new things or having another go at something that was previously hard. This can mean that therapy often looks more playful than purposeful, but that’s the point.

At Like Sunshine OT, we use activities that are playful, allowing children to experience a sense of safety, curiosity, and mastery that supports the development of motor, sensory, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. Fun increases intrinsic motivation, strengthens therapeutic rapport, and allows children to practice challenging tasks in a way that feels achievable, rather than overwhelming.

Our approaches combine neuro-developmental and targeted interventions specific to the client, their environment and their goals.

We have a strong focus on connection with the child, their family and their educators, valuing participation in sessions and take-home knowledge to help make the most of everyday opportunities to keep working towards their therapy goals.

We work collaboratively with other therapists on a child’s care team and value the input of all.
