Paediatric occupational therapy helps children build the everyday skills they need for play, learning, self‑care, and participation in daily tasks. We focus on areas including motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, toileting, sleep and social skills.

We provide therapeutic sessions and home programs, assessments, reports and can help with prescribing and using therapy equipment and assistive technology.

At Like Sunshine OT we are a paediatric occupational therapy service, we see children 14 years old and under, including early years and infancy.

We work with a wide range of conditions and developmental delays, as well as providing services for families of children without a diagnosis who are seeking OT assessment or other supports.

We are currently open for immediate intake of new clients.

Our waitlist depends on therapist availability, while we do our best to keep this space up-to-date, the best way to find out is to request a call.

Once discussed, you gain a place in in our queue and we can confirm whether we are able to offer you an appointment.

As a small business offering mainly mobile therapy, we currently offer phone calls to our clients by request only.

This system helps prevent disrupting other clients sessions and calls going unanswered by the therapist during busy times.

To help streamline our client communication we do provide access to an SMS only phone number once a call back is requested or your online new client intake form has been accepted.

This SMS system is used to arrange a time for a call from the therapist.

Please note our therapists calls will display as an unknown number when they contact you.

If you miss the call the therapist will either leave a message or send an SMS to let you know they tried to call you. Please respond by SMS if you wish them to call again. Please be aware if you miss the therapists’ call, a new call time may need to be arranged at a later time/date subject to therapist availability.

Please be aware the SMS number provided to clients is not able to be used for calls and has a 160 character limit per message for SMS use.

Yes, as part of our child safe policy all sessions occur within visibility of parents or educators. We also strongly encourage parent involvement so strategies can be used at home.

Our services are charged at the current NDIS standard rate of $193.99 per hour. This rate applies to both face-to-face sessions and associated clinical administration tasks, including documentation and report writing. We also charge travel costs in alignment with current NDIS billing guidelines.

We aim to provide sessions in the environments that help your children thrive.

Based on the Mornington Peninsula, we are a primarily mobile service.

We also offer fortnightly services in Northern Victoria in Rochester, Lockington and Elmore.

Currently, we come to you! However, we are in discussions around developing some regular use of clinic rooms. This aims to better support clients who would prefer clinic sessions, so watch this space!

We currently see NDIS self-managed and plan managed clients, privately funded clients and clients referred for 5-sessions under Medicare.

Following each session we will send out an invoice for the appointment.

Please note as a small business we will have to cancel any appointments if the previous invoice sent is overdue and is still unpaid 48 hours prior to the appointment.

‍If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so via email to likesunshineot@outlook.com by 4:30pm two-business-days prior to avoid late cancellation fees.

Please use the subject line Appointment Cancellation with the date (DD/MM/YYYY) and time [00:00AM/PM] of the scheduled appointment you wish to cancel.

Please ensure you also include in the email the following information:

• The client name (child)

• The scheduled appointment date & time (for confirmation)

• A request for a call back if wishing to reschedule

• The name of the person requesting the cancellation

Any cancellation delivered to our email inbox with a time stamp after 4:30pm on weekdays will only be received by our staff and documented as of 8:30am the next business day, these are deemed late cancellations and fees do apply.

Please note that this policy includes cancellations received on weekends, whereby any cancellations received after 4.30pm on Friday will be documented as received 8.30am Monday.
